Private lake had a nice swim area. The water slide was an extra fee. We brought our new Kayaks, but not allowed in their lake. They are afraid of the new invasive Zebra Mussels. Not sure how they could get transfer from New vessels.
Stayed at Detroit Greenfield Park for 4 nights. Price was responsible for just Water and Electric. Lots of shade but no grass. If you want a grass site there is no shade. It rained and the sandy dirt lots became a swamp.
This is a great park, with a great location, and nice people. So, why not 5 stars? Because I was coming here to stay the winter and was assured of basic amenities. However, they basically close on November 30th and leave you to fend for yourself. No showers, no laundry, no open office in case of trouble, no mail / package delivery, etc. I need those basics, so I'll have to go elsewhere for the winter. However I did get to spend 4 days with them for Labor Day. Great activities, fun, and the Blue Angels performing for an air show right over our heads. Do come visit them. Like I said, great park, nice people.
We had a wonderful weekend with the family this past weekend. The grounds were well kept and the beach was small but very clean. The kids had a great time fishing, playing on the water slides and swimming. When you stay overnight you get 3 water slide rides included for each kid and adult. If you want unlimited all day rides it is $5. Bathrooms were very clean and just a short walk away from where we were at. Everything from reservations to check out was fast and easy. We will be back again in the future.
Good campground for visiting Detroit and surrounding areas. There is nice selection of shaded, beach front and full sun sites. Nice beach on Ford Lake with a water slide. We have stayed here many times and will return again.
Only cons: small swimming area & camp sites are really close to each other.
We will try another site next time.
Love coming home to Michigan but never feel at home when I stay here. There may be 2 people that seem hospitable out of the staff, Lonnie whom handled my reservation and one kind lady that asked me if I needed help when I walked into the store, the rest all seem to give me the "What the hell do you want" look and attitude when I conduct business at the counter.. Our site this time was treeless thankfully and as long as we didn't deal with the staff the stay was pleasant, so far, we have 2 weeks left and no other place to go in the area. They also need to obey and enforce their speed limit, the staff seems to fly in and out of the place constantly. They seem carried away with fees too, my sister came with 2 kids to our site ate our food and left, but charged $5/head, I mean for what??? Until another place opens, they have the monopoly game in the bag. Just my opinion though. USN Ret.
